Johnnie James Morton (born October 7, 1971 in Torrance, California) was one of the most gifted wide receivers to play at the University of Southern California, a football factory that churned out such great WR's as Lynn Swann, Keyshawn Johnson, Keary Colbert, and Mike Williams. Without the physical gifts of speed or size that the others owned, Johnnie was able to make catches that seemed impossible, or at least unlikely. With very good receiving hands, Morton managed to break USC and Pac-10 records for receptions and yards at a university previously known for running the ball. Without the speed to separate from defensive backs, Morton was forced to just take the ball away with his superior timing and hands. He was a one-man-gang for USC in the mid to late 90's and parlayed his college career into an NFL career of moderate success, mainly due to his lack of NFL speed. ...more on Wikipedia about "Johnnie Morton"
