An auto show or motor show is a public gathering of automobile manufacturers which includes demonstrations of current automobile models, new debuts, and concept cars. Most auto shows are regular annual or biennial occurrences. The Chicago Auto Show is held annually in February at Chicago's McCormick Place convention complex. It is the largest auto show in North America (1.2 million sq. ft - 111,500 M sq.) and the third largest in the world (Frankfurt is #1 and Paris is #2, although those shows are held every other year). The International Motor Show or Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) is the world's largest motor show. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is an automotive charitable event held each year on the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. A Concours d’Elegance ( French, literally "a gathering of elegance.") is an event open to classic and vintage cars in which they are judged for originality, function and presentation. Classes are commonly broken down by type, marque (manufacturer), coachbuilder, country of origin, or time period. Traditionally a car is selected a as "The Best of Show" from among the various class winners. Class judges are usually experts on a particular category or manufacturer. The Scarsdale Concours (d'Elegance) is an annual car show and contest hosted by the Scarsdale High School's Auto Club. The Show takes place in the center of the Town of Scarsdale, New York and has over 100 exotic cars ranging from the origins of companies such as Ferrari to their most current models such as the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari. The show is a fundraiser for charity and in 2004 it raised over $17,000 for The United Way of Westchester. The money for charity is made from the donations of sponsors, voluntary admission donations, and a dinner for the owners of the cars on display. The 2005 took place on May 15 and benefited The United Way, Habitat for Humanity and Kellner Family Liver Disease Foundation.
