Autocar is a British automobile magazine published by Haymarket Magazines Ltd. It is the oldest surviving automobile magazine in the world, having begun publishing on November 2 1895 as The Autocar. It claims to have invented the road test in 1928, sampling the Austin Seven Gordon England Sunshine Saloon. It continues publishing weekly to this day, with only strikes in the 1970s having hampered its frequency.
