Alan is a fictional character in the Barbie line of dolls, by Mattel. He originally appeared in 1963 as Allan Sherwood, Ken's best friend. Like Ken, he was an 11 1/2" doll with straight arms and straight legs. Unlike the first Ken dolls, he had molded hair.
