According to the Second Book of Chronicles (II Chronicles 2:8), it was used, together with cedar and pine, in the construction of Solomon's Temple: "for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great". Some prophetic scripture of the Bible was recorded in the form of direct statements of God, while other content is from the point of view of the original writers. In the sense that such Bible authors expressed this privileged perspective, they can be considered as prophets. The relevant scripture generally imbues the Biblical prophets with the ability to communicate with, or receive/interpret messages from God. - (see Prophet). ...more on Wikipedia about "Bible prophecy"

A Bible Society is a non-profit organization (usually ecumenical Protestant in makeup) devoted to publishing and distributing the Bible for free or at subsidized low cost. Traditionally Bible society editions contain only the Protestant canon of Scripture, without any notes or commentary; but in recent decades this principle has been relaxed somewhat, and such editions typically have at least some notes on alternate translations of words, or variations in the different available manuscripts. Most or all Protestants have in common the principle of sola scriptura, and many believe that distributing free copies of the Bible is an effective form of evangelism; this makes Bible societies an attractive form of common action for Protestants of different denominations. ...more on Wikipedia about "Bible Society"

Bible stories, Judeo-Christian parables retelling some portions of the Bible, have long had a place in family religious worship, spiritual instruction, literature, and the cultural underpinnings of many Christian and Jewish societies. In many Christian churches, they are regular ingredients of Sunday School curricula. The underlying spiritual principles in many of these stories are being used in preaching and teaching for Judeo-Christian adults as well. The Tanakh, also known as the Old Testament, contains among others, stories about the creation and fall of humanity, the covenant God established with Abraham, and the history of the 'Chosen People' of Israel. The New Testament in the Christian Bible contains stories about the life of Jesus, the parables he told, and about the first period of apostolic activities. ...more on Wikipedia about "Bible story"

The Biblia pauperum ("Paupers' Bible") was a tradition of picture Bibles beginning in the later Middle Ages. They sought to portray the historical books of the Bible visually. Unlike a simple "illustrated Bible", where the pictures are subordinated to the text, these Bibles placed the illustration in the centre, with only a brief text or sometimes no text at all. Words spoken by the figures in the miniatures could be written on scrolls coming out of their mouths. To this extent one might see parallels with modern cartoon strips. ...more on Wikipedia about "Biblia pauperum"
