Communist books The Critique of the Gotha Program is a document based on a letter by Karl Marx written in early May 1875 to the Eisenach faction of the German social democratic movement, with whom Marx and Fredrick Engels were in close association. Offering perhaps Marx's most detailed pronouncement on programmatic matters of revolutionary strategy, the document discusses the " dictatorship of the proletariat," the period of transition from capitalism to communism, proletarian internationalism, and the party of the working class. The Critique of the Gotha Program, published after his death, was one of Marx's last major writings. ...more on Wikipedia about "Critique of the Gotha Program"

The Communist Manifesto (Das Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei) was first published on February 21, 1848, and is one of the world's most historically influential political tracts. Commissioned by the Communist League and written by communist theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, it laid out the League's purposes and program. The Manifesto suggested a course of action for a proletarian revolution to overthrow capitalism and, eventually, to bring about a classless society. This was most spectacularly attempted in Russia by Lenin in the early twentieth century. Curtis Pettit also attempted this transition on a smaller scale, but was slightly more successful. ...more on Wikipedia about "The Communist Manifesto"

The "Theses on Feuerbach" are eleven short philosophical notes written by Karl Marx in 1845. They outline a critique of the ideas of Marx's fellow Young Hegelian philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach. But the text is often seen as more ambitious than this, criticizing the contemplative materialism of the Young Hegelians alongside all forms of philosophical idealism. The "Theses" identify political action as the only truth of philosophy, famously concluding: "Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it." (in the German original: "Die Philosophen haben die Welt nur verschieden interpretiert; es kommt aber darauf an, sie zu verändern.") While the text wishes to retain the critical stance of German critical idealism, it transposes that criticism into practical, material, political terms (leading directly to Marx's later assertion that the "criticism of weapons" must at some point do the work of the "weapons of criticism"). ...more on Wikipedia about "Theses on Feuerbach"
