Andrew Thomas Kuster is a conductor, musical scholar, and performer. He received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in the Literature and Performance of Choral Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He earned a Bachelor of Music from St. Olaf College and a Master of Music from Mankato State University, MN. He works as a text reviewer for the Text Creation Partnership and Early English Books Online at the University of Michigan. Recently, he organized and conducted performances and recordings of music by Stravinsky, Messiaen, and Heinrich Schütz. He has worked closely with University of Michigan faculty composers in performances and recordings of their new works. His conducting responsibilities included the University of Colorado Women's Chorus, the Boulder Chorale (CO), and the associate conductor of the University Musical Society Choral Union in Ann Arbor (MI). He published a scholarly performing edition of Geistliche Chor-Music by Heinrich Schütz (ISBN 1411642430) His articles about Webern, Rachmaninoff, and Britten have appeared in the Choral Journal, and A-R Editions has published his critical edition of Amy Beach's The Sea-Fairies (ISBN 0895794357). In 2001, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) awarded him the Julius Herford Prize for Distinguished Doctoral Research in Choral Music for his writing about Igor Stravinsky's twelve-tone choral works. Errol Girdlestone (born 1945) is a British conductor. He is Music Director of Syrinx Concerts Orchestra and Choir, Vence and now lives near Nice, France. He is also the conductor of the Ensemble Cordial which performs at the Musique-Cordiale Festival in the Var, France. He studied music at Oxford University. Though he also studied conducting in Warsaw, he bagan his professional career as a singer in several London ensembles, including the Monteverdi Choir and the Hilliard Ensemble, of which he was a founder member. He was director of the singers at the English National Opera before becoming conductor of the Cape Town Opera. On returning to Europe, he has conducted works for festival and orchestras and worked with choirs including the Orchestre de Paris. With the Syrinx ensemble he has conducted several oratorios (Bach, Handel, Haydn, Berlioz and Brahms) while, with the Ensemble Cordial, he has directed Frank Martin's a capella Mass and J.S.
