The World Famous Pontani Sisters are a burlesque review in New York City, beginning in the 1990s swing era and leading the burlesque movement on the East Coast and throughout the United States. The brainchild of performer/costume designer/choreographer Angie Pontani, the group began as a side act of the popular swing band The Flying Neutrinos. Angie, a veteran of the Dutch Weisman Follies, had envisioned a return to the 1940s and 1950s vision of American glamour initiated on Broadway and emblazened in Hollywood films for almost her entire life. The opportunity to bring this vision to the masses was a happy coincidence of public interest meeting trends of the past.
