Harrison County, Texas Caddo Lake is a 25,400 acre (103 km²) lake and wetland located on the border between Texas and Louisiana, in northern Harrison County and southern Marion County in Texas and western Caddo Parish in Louisiana. The lake is named after the Southeastern culture of Native Americans called Caddo or Caddoans, who lived in the area from the 16th century until their expulsion in the 19th century. Harrison County Historical Museum is a historical museum in Marshall, Texas dedicated to the history of Harrison County, Texas. The museum houses twenty-two rooms of exhibits ranging in topic from the Native American Caddo culture to the history of the HBCU Wiley College. The museum has historically been located in the Old Courthouse on Whetstone Square, but has been temporarily located in the Ginocchio since 2001 awaiting the completion of a restoration project of the Old Courthouse. The museum house thousands of artifacts and also has an extensive photographic and text archive partially maintained by a geneological society.
