Giannitsochori, Gianitsochori, Giannitsohori or Gianitsohori ( Greek: Γιαννιτσοχώρι), older forms: -on is a village located in the municipality of Zacharo to its east southeast in the southern part of the prefecture of Ilia. Giannitsochori is accesed with a road linking to GR-9/ E55 (Pyrgos - Kyparissia). Giannitsochori is famous for its beaches and also have hotels and campgrounds including Apollo. It is located about 45 km ESE of Pyrgos, about 30 km S of Olympia, about 20 km N of Kyparissia and 15 km north of GR-9A. The Gulf of Kyparissia which is part of the Ionian Sea is to its west. Greek National Road 76 (Pyrgos - Andritsaina - Megalopoli) is an west to east highway linking 2 km W of Krestena with GR-9/ E55, Andritsaina and SE of Megalopoli (until 2003, in Megalopoli). The highway west to Andritsaina is unofficially designated as GR-76 The west to east highway runs in the western and the central part of the Peloponnese. Much of the highway runs with curvy roads. Katakolo ( Greek: Κατάκολο; before the 1970s: Κατάκολον or Katakolon) is a seaside town in western Ilia in the municipality of Pyrgos. Katakolo is part of the municipality of Pyrgos (Ilia). It is located south of Patras and Dounaiika, 12 km off downtown Pyrgos, west of Olympia and northwest of Messenia. It is located at 37.75° (37'39°) N, 21.33° (20'20°) E. The town centre is within a gulf overlooking the Ionian Sea. It has a small port which is the main port of Pyrgos, a school, restaurants, a church and a town square. A railway line called the Katakolo-Pyrgos Rail used to go to Katakolo. Small hills with forests surround Katakolo. Katakolo is situated on a peninsula and has a lighthouse founded southwest. It is accessed by a highway linking Patras and Pyrgos, known as GR-9, the new highway now bypasses Kavasila. Distance from Patras is 66 km, SE of Kyllini, and 32.07 km from Pyrgos. Its latitude is 37.8667 N (37°52'27) and longitude is 21.2667 (21°15'52) E. Its elevation is about 20 m. Its area code is 26230. It is slightly about 500 m north of the Pineios River where an old bridge stood there but replaced it in 2001 to avoid collapsing and into 2 lanes. The railway line used to mark the beginning of a track of Vartholomio to Kyllini which it became shut down since about 2001. Until the late 20th century, this village was known as Kelevi. It is located 16 km E of Gastouni, about 6 km S of Borsi, 2 km N of Agias Ilias, about 15 km (old: 10 km) W of Simopoulo, 16 km NE of Amaliada, about 25 km N of ENE of Pyrgos and 15 km E of GR-9/ E55 from the southbound lanes and about 20 km NE from the northbound lanes.
