It is the seat of municipality of Volakas (Greek: Βώλακας). Epitalio is accessed by GR-9 to the north and south in which until the 1980s ran through the town. The Alpheus river flows to the north. The location is SE of Pyrgos and the bypass, WSW of Olympia, W of Tripoli, NW of Krestena and Andirtsaina, NW of Kalamata and NNW of Kyparissia. Gastouni ( Greek: Γαστούνη, -ι) is a town and a municipality in northern Ilia, Greece. Distance is 10 km south of Lechaina, 16 km from Kyllini Baths, 28 km from Pyrgos, 12 km NW of Amalias and 70 km SW of Patras. Its population is around 5000 and 8000 and sits west of the Peneus valley and south of the Pineios River. The neighboring communities are Vartholomio to the west, Kavasila in the north, Agia Mavra in the NE, Koroivos in the east, Savalia in the SE and Palaiochori in the south. GR-9/ E55 since the late- 1980s bypasses Gastouni. Most of the residential houses lie east of the old GR-9. The town has about 600m to 800m of one-way streets. Elevation is about 4 to 5 m above sea level. A Byzantine church of the Panagia Katholiki is two-columned and built in the 12th century. Gastouni has a church, school, a town square, a market town, and a train station next to the divided road to the dam. Forests are founded in the northeast, and 2 km southeast while mixed farming surrounds Gastouni sxcept for the south. The community has a factory and a junkyard to the east. It is located south of Patras and Dounaiika, 12 km off downtown Pyrgos, west of Olympia and northwest of Messenia. It is located at 37.75° (37'39°) N, 21.33° (20'20°) E. The town centre is within a gulf overlooking the Ionian Sea. It has a small port which is the main port of Pyrgos, a school, restaurants, a church and a town square. It is accessed by a highway linking Patras and Pyrgos, known as GR-9, the new highway now bypasses Kavasila. Distance from Patras is 66 km, SE of Kyllini, and 32.07 km from Pyrgos. Its latitude is 37.8667 N (37°52'27) and longitude is 21.2667 (21°15'52) E. Its elevation is about 20 m. Its area code is 26230. It is slightly about 500 m north of the Pineios River where an old bridge stood there but replaced it in 2001 to avoid collapsing and into 2 lanes. The railway line used to mark the beginning of a track of Vartholomio to Kyllini which it became shut down since about 2001. Until the late 20th century, this village was known as Kelevi.
