Independent Public Radio

Independent Public Radio (IPR) is a public radio network in Minnesota. It is the second-largest public radio organization in the state, after Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). Known as AMPERS (Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations) until 2004, the network helps member stations coordinate fundraising and allows them to share a certain amount of programming. KAXE (91.7 FM) is a 100,000- watt public radio station serving Grand Rapids, Minnesota and the surrounding area, including the city of Hibbing. It is part of Minnesota's Independent Public Radio network. The station broadcasts a wide variety of music, and airs programming catering to many of the diverse ethnic groups of the region.
