John Tortorella (Born: June 24, 1958 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA-) is an American and former rightwinger in the NCAA and ACHL and current head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning, with whom he won the Stanley Cup along with the Jack Adams Award for best coach in 2004. He has been there since succeeding previous head coach Steve Ludzik on January 6, 2001. He has also coached the AHL Rochester Americans and the ACHL Virginia Lancers. He was also assistant coach for AHL New Haven Nighthawks, Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Americans, Phoenix Coyotes and New York Rangers.
