Alvan Leigh Adams (b. July 19, 1954 in Lawrence, Kansas) is a former professional basketball player. After starring at the University of Oklahoma, the 6'9" (2.06 m) forward/center was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 4th pick of the 1975 NBA Draft. Adams, who won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1976 and led the Suns to an improbable season that landed them in the NBA Finals, was named to the NBA All-Star Game that season, and was also a member of the All-NBA Rookie Team. Andrew Lang (born June 28 1966 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas) is a former professional basketball player in the NBA, who played with the Phoenix Suns, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks, mainly in the role of backup center. He is known infamously in New York during an incident at the Bradley Center involving Knicks star center Patrick Ewing. In December of 1997, Lang and Ewing collided in mid-air. Ewing fell on his wrist and wasn't able to play for the remainder of the regular season, and this is thought to have slowed down his career. He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 2nd round (52nd overall) in 1994. He was signed as a free agent in 1997 by Charlotte Hornets and they traded him to the Denver Nuggets during that season.
