Politics of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bosniak nationalism is allegedly a form of nationalism similar to those found in adjoining regions of the Balkans and stems from the same birth of nationalist sentiment awakened following the Napoleonic Wars in the early 19th century. While Bosniak nationalism may have been subdued for most of the 19th century, it allegedly became a more potent force after the annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1908. The assassination of the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 1914 by Gavrilo Princip (a Bosnian Serb), is symptomatic of another Balkan nationalism, that of the pan-Serbian variety. ...more on Wikipedia about "Bosniak nationalism"
