The Saab 93 was an automobile manufactured by Saab. It was announced on August 18, 1955 and was first presented on December 1, 1955. It was styled by Sixten Sason and had a longitudinally-mounted three-cylinder 748 cc Saab two-stroke engine giving 33 hp (25 kW). In 1957, two-point seatbelts were introduced as an option. The 93 was the first Saab to be exported outside of Sweden, with most exports going to the United States. The Saab 95 was a 7-seater station wagon/ estate made by Saab. It was introduced in 1959, but because only 40 were made in 1959, production is often said to have started in 1960. The first engine was a 841 cc three-cylinder two-stroke engine, but from 1967 onward, it became available with the same four-stroke Ford V4 as used in the Saab 96 and the Ford Taunus. The Saab Catherina was a 1964 prototype automobile designed by Sixten Sason and made by the Aktiebolaget Svenska Järnvägsverkstäderna (the Swedish Railroad Works - ASJ) in Arlöv, commissioned by Saab. Saab EV-1, or Saab 900 Turbo EV-1, was developed by Saab in 1985 as a fully functional and roadworthy future design study (EV-1 stands for Experimental Vehicle One). It was a sports coupé body style based on the Saab 900 Turbo 16v. The design was made by Björn Envall and included such features as a solar powered interior fan with solar cells mounted in the glass roof. The front and rear was made of Aramid reinforced fiberglass. Most of the parts were from the Saab 900 Turbo 16 and modified, but the seats came from a Chevrolet Corvette. The engine was tuned to give 285 hp (213 kW). The top speed was 270 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h was done in 5.9 seconds. Saab GT750 ( Gran Turismo 750) is an automobile from Saab produced between 1958 and 1960. The GT750 was a sporty version of the Saab 93, mainly aimed at the US market. The MFI 13 was a February 1965 prototype for the Saab 97, later known as Sonett II. It was built at the Malmö Flyg Industri as they had some experience with plastic manufacturing. The body of the prototype was made of steel though. A second prototype was designed by Sixten Sason and delivered a month later by ASJ (Aktiebolaget Svenska Järnvägsverkstäderna - the Swedish Railroad Works) in Arlöv. Both cars were brought to Trollhättan for examination and the MFI car was determined to be the most suitable for further development. The Saab Monster was an experimental car made by Saab in 1959. It consisted of a Saab 93 with all excess weight removed. Even the bonnet was replaced by a plastic one to reduce weight. The engineers then installed two transverse 748 cc two-stroke, three cylinder engines. This gave the car well over 100 hp and a top speed of 196 km/h (achieved at Såtenäs airfield).
