COSI, formerly known as the Center of Science and Industry, is a science museum in Columbus, Ohio. COSI opened on March 29, 1964, as a venture of the Franklin County Historical Society. It was originally housed in Memorial Hall, a Columbus landmark that had served as a major performing arts hall since its dedication in 1906. In 1999, COSI moved to a new location on the Scioto riverfront. The building was designed by internationally-renowned architect Arata Isozaki using the former Central High School along with new construction on the site of the school's football field. The Montshire Museum of Science is a small, hands-on, self-guided science museum located in Norwich, Vermont in Windsor County. It has roughly 150,000 visitors annually. The museum, including the building and nature trails, is located on over 110 acres (445,000 m²) of land. It has exhibits on anatomy, math, astronomy, mechanics, and natural history, among others. Its live animal exhibits include a hive of honeybees that is connected to the outdoors and a colony of leafcutter ants.
