Dunfermline East is a plurality voting system constituency represented in the Scottish Parliament since 1999 and is part of the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region for the additional member system (AMS). It was created in 1999 with the same boundaries as the Dunfermline East constituency of the House of Commons. The name of the constituency is somewhat of a misnomer, as no part of Dunfermline is actually located with the boundaries. Instead, Cowdenbeath is the largest town and most of the seat's area was once part of the Fife coalfield, on the north bank of the Firth of Forth. The region has economic troubles, and the closure of the Rosyth naval base and the troubles at the naval dockyard have not helped. Statistically, this is one of Labour’s safest seats in Scotland. There has been a Labour MP for this area since 1950. Gordon Brown, the chancellor, has been the MP since 1983 and his majority at the last general election was over 15,000. Labour’s Helen Eadie won the Holyrood seat at the first Scottish parliamentary election in 1999. ...more on Wikipedia about "Dunfermline East (Scottish Parliament constituency)"
Dunfermline West is a plurality voting system constituency represented in the Scottish Parliament since 1999 and is part of the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region for the additional member system (AMS). It was created in 1999 with the same boundaries as the Dunfermline West constituency of the House of Commons. The seat comtains all of Dunfermline as well as some land on the north bank of the Firth of Forth. Historically, it was once Scotland's capital city and eight kings are buried there, amongst them Robert the Bruce. Today, textiles, engineering and synthetic material manufacturing are the primary industries, although the seat also contains rural areas. Like its neighbour, Dunfermline East, this is one of Labour’s safest seats in Scotland. Voters here have been electing Labour MPs since 1935. However, Labour support is not quite as solid here as it is in Dunfermline East. ...more on Wikipedia about "Dunfermline West (Scottish Parliament constituency)"

Fife Central is a plurality voting system constituency represented in the Scottish Parliament since 1999 and is part of the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region for the additional member system (AMS). It was created in 1999 with the same boundaries as the Fife Central constituency of the House of Commons. The constituency includes the new town of Glenrothes as well as the industrial ports of Leven and Methil. North East Fife is a plurality voting system constituency represented in the Scottish Parliament since 1999 and is part of the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region for the additional member system (AMS). It was created in 1999 with the same boundaries as the North East Fife constituency of the House of Commons. The constituency includes the bustling market town of Cupar and the fmaous St Andrews. It is therefore a relatively prosperous, largely rural, lowland seat on the coast with successful livestock, fruit-growing and tourism. Unemployment is relatively low and half the electorate lives in the town of Perth itself. Because Perth is a combination of small prosperous towns and rich agricultural land, in the past, when this seat was contested for the Parliament of the United Kingdom, it was traditionally a Conservative seat. Indeed, the Conservatives held the predecessor seats at Westminster for most of the post-war up until 1987. Although the Labour Party does relatively poorly in this area, it is a good training ground for future Labour MPs, as Henry McLeish, Helen Liddell and Lynda Clark have all been MP candidates here. ...more on Wikipedia about "Fife North East (Scottish Parliament constituency)"
