The Salomon Group (also just known as "Salomon") is a sportswear manufacturing company that originated in Annecy, France. The company was started in 1947 by François Salomon, and his wife and child. Since 1997 it was part of adidas. On 2 May 2005, adidas-Salomon announced that they had agreed to sell Salomon Group for 485 mn Euros to Amer Sports of Finland.
