Gemerl (also occasionally referred to as Gemel, G-Mel, or simply Emerl) is a character in Sonic Advance 3. Built by Dr. Eggman, he has a very similar appearance to Emerl because he was rebuilt from him. He is black and yellow with red and blue eyes. The player fight him on various occasions, and he also co-pilots Eggman's mechas in boss stages. In the final battle, Gemerl uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to transform into a powerful sphere shaped machine ( probably what Emerl would of become if he had gotten all the chaos emeralds in Sonic Battle). He then betrays Eggman and flies off. Sonic then becomes Super Sonic and teams up with Eggman to defeat Gemerl. The Guardian Unit of Nations (henceforth GUN) is a human army in the Sonic the Hedgehog fictional universe. They were responsible for the shut down of space colony ARK and the death of Maria Robotnik. The army believed that Gerald Robotnik's research would be a threat to the planet, and so organized a plan to shut down ARK and destroy Project Shadow. They planned to invade the ARK under the excuse that there had been an accident and do away with anybody that worked on Project Shadow. They then captured the Biolizard and encapsulated it. However the then-finished project, Shadow the Hedgehog, fled in an escape capsule just as GUN soldiers caught up with him.
