Space science Astrogeology is a planetary science discipline concerned with the geology of the celestial bodies such as the planets and their moons, asteroids, comets, and meteorites. Alternatively known as planetary geology or exogeology. ...more on Wikipedia about "Astrogeology"
Inner-grazer is a scheme of Sun Orbits. All six diagrams show the Sun in the middle (the orange dot) and a putative planet's orbital band (in yellow). The latter is a ring whose inner radius is the planet's perihelion and its outer radius the aphelion. ...more on Wikipedia about "Inner-grazer"
Outer-grazer is a scheme of Sun Orbits, linked in with Inner-grazer. All six diagrams show the Sun in the middle (the orange dot) and a putative planet's orbital band (in yellow). The latter is a ring whose inner radius is the planet's perihelion and its outer radius the aphelion. ...more on Wikipedia about "Outer-grazer"
Planetary science, also known as planetology or planetary astronomy, is the science of planets, or planetary systems, and the solar system. Incorporating an interdisciplinary approach, planetary science draws from diverse sciences and may be considered a part of the Earth sciences, or more logically, as its parent field. Research tends to be done by a combination of astronomy, space exploration (particularly unmanned space missions), and comparative, experimental and meteorite work based on Earth. There is also an important theoretical component and considerable use of computer simulation. Astrogeology is a major component of planetary sciences. ...more on Wikipedia about "Planetary science"
A ring current is an electric current carried by charged particles trapped in a planet's magnetosphere. It is caused by the longitudinal drift of energetic ( 10-200 keV) particles. ...more on Wikipedia about "Ring current"
The Roche limit is the distance within which a celestial body held together only by its own gravity will disintegrate due to a second celestial body's tidal forces exceeding the first body's gravitational self-attraction. Inside the Roche limit, orbiting material will tend to disperse and form rings, while outside the limit, material will tend to coalesce. The term is named after Édouard Roche, the French astronomer who first calculated this theoretical limit in 1848. ...more on Wikipedia about "Roche limit"
Selenography is the study of the surface and physical features of the Moon, especially the mapping of the features according to the Moon's latitude and longitude. The major lunar maria, craters, and mountain ranges of the Moon are the features that are studied and mapped in selenography. ...more on Wikipedia about "Selenography"
The Space Environment Center (SEC) is a laboratory in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/ Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). ...more on Wikipedia about "Space Environment Center"
Space science, or the space sciences, are fields of science that are concerned with the study or utilization of outer space. There are several major fields of space science: ...more on Wikipedia about "Space science"
Space weather is the concept of changing environmental conditions in outer space. It is distinct from the concept of weather within an atmosphere, and generally deals with the interactions of ambient radiation and matter within interplanetary, and occasionally interstellar space. ...more on Wikipedia about "Space weather"
Spacelab is a microgravity laboratory flown into space on the Space Shuttle. It consists of a large cylindrical main laboratory that is flown in the rear of the Space Shuttle cargo bay, connected to the crew compartment by a long tube. The laboratory had an outer diameter of 4.06 m, and each segment a length of 2.7 m. Most of the time two segments were used, thus it had a total length of 5.4 m. ...more on Wikipedia about "Spacelab"
Wake Shield Facility is an experimental science platform that was placed in low-earth orbit by the Space Shuttle. It is a free-flying, 3.7 m (12 foot) diameter, free-flying stainless steel disk. ...more on Wikipedia about "Wake Shield Facility"
